A Week of Gaming and Drama Fever in Korea
Online games like League of Legends (리그오브레전드), LoL (롤), Valorant (발로란트), and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (배틀그라운드) took the lead. League of Legends dominated with 1,979 searches, and the match between T1 and G2 at the Valorant Champions (발로란트 챔피언스) drew significant attention. The news of commemorative stamps being issued featuring Faker (페이커) further fueled the excitement.
Minecraft (마인크래프트) and MapleStory (메이플스토리) consistently ranked at the top of search terms throughout the week. Minecraft recorded 1,613 searches and MapleStory 1,008, reflecting steady interest from gamers. These numbers reflected actual player demand for game guides and item information.
Dramas also showed strong momentum. "Dating Expert" (연애박사) starring the couple Choo Young-woo (추영우) and Kim So-hyun (김소현) in a youthful romance recorded 353 searches, while "100 Days of Lies" (100일의 거짓말) garnered attention ahead of its broadcast premiere. "Our Ballad 2" (우리들의 발라드 2) and "Kidnap Game" (키드냅 게임) also drew eyes as new content.
The '95 Seoul Song Festival' (95 서울가요제) episode of the entertainment show "What Do You Do When You Play?" (놀면 뭐하니?) recorded 265 searches and became a hot topic. In the space sector, the fifth launch of Nuri (누리호) rocket garnered attention with 309 searches. A Coupang (쿠팡) app error remained a minor issue with just 70 searches.
